History of OCS

Olathe Christian School began in 1982 in a bedroom converted to a classroom with three desks and a chalkboard. The bedroom was in a church building where Roy and Laura Wilson brought their three young children to live and start a new ministry. Today, it is a thriving Christian school serving parents with children in pre-school through twelfth grade. The present enrollment is approximately 225 students.

Olathe Christian School exists because of the need for Christian education for our children. OCS is a Bible believing, evangelical, interdenominational school. It would be considered conservative in values but progressive in ideas.

Olathe Christian School offers a full program including a full-day pre-school department using the A Beka curriculum, a K5 – 6th grade elementary school using the A Beka curriculum in traditional classrooms, a 7th – 8th grade junior high using a combination of A Beka and Bob Jones curriculum, and a high school offering college preparatory classes and classes to meet the needs of a progressive society.
