Our Philosophy

OCS bases its educational philosophy on a Christian world view that comes from the truths of the Christian faith. Education can most effectively be accomplished in an environment that recognizes that the only truth is God's truth. Because the fear of the Lord is the foundation of all wisdom and knowledge, developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ takes highest priority in the educational process. Scripture clearly teaches that parents are responsible for the education and discipline of their children. The school is not a substitute for the home, rather an extension of the home, and only one of the means through which parents are to fulfill the responsibility the Lord has given them.
